Do you love surprises, stories, and a little bit of whimsy? Then mark your calendar for Saturday, March 14, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Doran Hall, 4300 Main St, Vancouver, WA—because our White Elephant Book Exchange is back, and this time it’s all about fantasy!

Imagine the thrill of picking a beautifully wrapped book, or perhaps you’ll choose one in plain, brown paper. All you’ll know is its genre, fantasy, with the possibility of discovering a new world inside. Whether you’re a fan of dragons, enchanted forests, or epic quests, this event is your chance to swap stories, share joy, and support education, all while enjoying:

  • Tasty snacks and refreshing beverages

  • Inspiring guest speakers and a lively Q&A

  • A GRAND PRIZE giveaway!

  • FREE books and donation opportunities

How it works:
Bring a fantasy book wrapped with the genre clearly written on the wrapping. The mystery is part of the fun!

  1. The Oldest Person at Your Table Goes First
    After that, work clockwise.

  2. Pick or Steal
    The first player selects a wrapped book from the table, unwraps it, and reveals the title to their tablemates. The following players can choose a new book from the table or steal a book someone else has already opened.

  3. Stealing Rules
    A book can only be stolen once per turn, so if yours gets stolen, you can’t immediately steal it back. But you do get to return to the table and choose another book. After a book has been stolen three times, it’s locked and cannot be stolen again.

  4. Protection Rule
    If you’ve had a book stolen from you three times, the next book you pick is yours to keep—no more stealing!

  5. Not Happy with Your Book?
    Don’t worry—there’s always a twist at the end.

$10 pre-event or $15 at the door. Your contribution helps us continue our mission of bringing more to women’s lives through education and empowerment.
